PERSONALITY As a bullfighter, Alondra has become famous for her calm and her level-headedness around the bulls in the stables, her thorough approach to their training and her icy nerves in the arena. As a person, she's better known as being sort of brusque and taciturn in her interaction with everyone who isn't one of her girlfriends or a member of her family. She's very direct, weighs her words carefully, thinks before she speaks and then, makes sure others know exactly what opinion she has about a subject or a job that needs done. As a woman, she's very passionate around the girls who draw her attention, she can be rather aggressive in her flirting, she has a mile-long track record with many different girls, people she still sees and people she only saw that once. In her demeanor, she's an old-fashioned butch. Spain, where she resides, belongs to the Proud South, the name given to a cluster of southern European countries who have closed in on themselves, counting Italy, Portugal and the very independently minded Southern France as well. The try-hard modern and organic approach of countries like (Northern) France and England has been completely rejected here and as much as possible, people attempt to live by the old ways, although few remember the time before the Blackout, before the war and thus, their old ways are mostly a hotchpotch of influences, some from old times, most a response to the European situation as it is. Alondra is a child of Madrid, as well as a child of the Vivas family that owns the old Las Ventas bullring there. Born as she was during the Blackout, her mother died of complications after childbirth, leaving her to grow up with her father and his large family, a family of bullfighters, but bullfighting of the new school where the bull isn't harmed, instead it is carefully trained for a staged fight, like circus animals would be. It is a discipline that has become as popular in the new world as original bullfighting was in the old. Alondra lived a happy childhood, spending all her time with her father in the stables, until one day he was killed in a brutal accident with another matador's bull when she was only ten. Now an orphan, Alondra was officially adopted by her grandparents and as her interest in bullfighting grew, her grandfather, a master matador himself, decided to train her out in the art form, although it wasn't a sport that in its European branch accepted girls, she was allowed to debut at age 21 and her obvious talents, along with her exoticism soon earned her a name and a following. One that earns her bread and butter still.
